The highest toxicity grade reported was grade 4, due to low neutrophil count (4 patients) and low hemoglobin levels (3). Grade 3 neurological toxicities were also reported (confusion in 2 patients and drowsiness in 1 patient).

The median overall survival for this study was 7.5 months.

One of the authors of this study works for BioNumerik, the supplier of karenitecin.
