Description:
Patients:
This study involved 71 women with recurring ovarian cancer or primary peritoneal carcinomatosis. The median patient age was 60 years.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the biologic therapy agent sorafenib, which is a protein kinase inhibitor that is involved in the growth of cancer cells.

Toxicities:
There was one treatment-related death due to sepsis reported for this study. Also reported were dermatologic (grades 1-3), gastrointestinal (1-3), constitutional (fever and/or general aches, grades 1-4), and metabolic (1-4) effects.

Results:
The median progression-free survival and overall survival were 2.1 and 16.33 months, respectively.
