Description:
Patients:
This phase II study involved 25 male patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer who had previously been treated with docetaxel. The median patient age was 65 years.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agent cisplatin and the hormone prednisone.

Toxicities:
The most severe adverse event was of grade 4, including neutropenia and peripheral neuropathy. Nausea/vomiting and anemia were also reported.

Results:
The reported median overall survival was 12.7 months.
