Description:
Patients:
This phase II study involved 45 patients with previously untreated metastatic colorectal cancer. The median patient age was 58 and 62% were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agents capecitabine and oxaliplatin.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities reported were of grade 3 and included diarrhea, fatigue, and neuropathy (nerve disorders). Grade 2 nausea and hand-foot syndrome were also reported.

Results:
The median progression-free survival was 6.7 months and the median overall survival was 20.5 months.
