Description:
Patients:
This phase II study involved 14 patients with advanced or metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer who had received previous treatments. The median patient age was 59 years and 57.1% were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agents S-1 and either irinotecan or docetaxel.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were grade 3 neutropenia, diarrhea, and nausea/vomiting.

Results:
The median overall survival time was 5.6 months.
