Description:
Patients:
This phase II study involved 64 patients with transitional cell carcinoma of the urothelium. The median patient age was 65 years and 83% were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agents pemetrexed and gemcitabine.

Toxicity:
There was one treatment-related death due to infection. Grade 4 neutropenia, anemia, and shortness of breath were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 10.3 months.
