This study involved 44 patients with metastatic colorectal cancer who had received previous chemotherapy with 5-FU, leucovorin, and oxaliplatin. The median patient age was 63 years and 70.5% were male.

Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agents pemetrexed and irinotecan.

The most severe reported toxicities were of grade 4 and included leucopenia and neutropenia. Grade 3 fatigue and diarrhea were also reported.

The median overall survival was 13.9 months.
