Description:
Patients:
This study involved 34 men with hormone-refractory metastatic prostate cancer. The median patient age was 72.3 years.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agents docetaxel, estramustine, and doxifluidine.

Toxicities:
The most severe adverse event was one case of grade 4 neutropenia. Grade 3 anemia and nausea/vomiting were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 19.4 months.
