Description:
Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 40 advanced hepatocellular cancer patients who had been previously treated with sorafenib. The median patient age was 60.5 years and 34 were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the biologic therapy agent lenalidomide, which targets multiple cellular pathways to interfere with cancer cell growth.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were grade 4 liver toxicity and neutropenia. Grade 3 rash and fatigue were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 7.6 months.
