Description:
Patients:
This study involved 10 hepatocellular carcinoma patients with an average age of 63.5 years, 8 of whom were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with a form of radiation therapy called radioembolization and the biologic therapy agent sorafenib (a tyrosine kinase inhibitor).

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 3 and included liver toxicity, anorexia, and abdominal pain.

Results:
The median overall survival was 6.9 months.
