Description:
Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 26 elderly (at least 65 years of age) small cell lung cancer patients who had not been previously treated; 88% of the patients were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agent belotecan.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 4 and included neutropenia and leucopenia. Grade 3 anorexia and nausea were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 6.4 months.
