Description:
Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 20 advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients with a median age of 68.8 years, 16 of whom were male.

Treatment:
Patients received chemotherapy with gemcitabine and carboplatin.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 4 and included grade 3-4 leucopenia, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia. Grade 1-2 fever and nausea/vomiting were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 2.8 months.
