Description:
Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 53 relapsed/refractory mantle cell lymphoma patients. The median patient age was 67 years and 83% were male.

Treatment:
Patients received biologic therapy with lenalidomide (interferes with blood supply to cancer cells) and bortezomib (a proteasome inhibitor that may cause cancer cell death).

Toxicities:
There was one treatment-related death due to infection. Grade 4 thrombocytopenia and grade 3 fatigue were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 26 months.
