Description:
Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 31 pretreated advanced castration-resistant prostate cancer patients with a median age of 73 years.

Treatment:
Patients received low-dose acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and chemotherapy with estramustine phosphate.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 2 and included neutropenia, nausea/vomiting and abdominal pain.

Results:
The median overall survival was 7.6 months.
