Patients: This Phase II study involved 33 women with advanced or metastatic breast cancer.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of administration of a new chemotherapy drug called ZD0473 (a new generation platinum compound).

Toxicity: Hematological toxicity was significant (grade 1-4). Other toxicities included: fever, fatigue, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, stomatitis, taste disturbance, constipation, diarrhea, hemorrahage, neuro/sensory, neuro/motor, blurred vision, flashing lights, auditory/hearing, headache, myalgia, alopecia, rash, dry skin, dyspnea, cough, palpitations, and petechiae/purpura.

Results: There is one partial response in one patient. Overall survival was not discussed.
