Description:
Patients: This Phase II trial involved 40 patients with advanced (stage IIIB or IV) non-small cell lung carcinoma.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of a three-drug combination of irinotecan (CPT-11, Camptosar), paclitaxel (taxol), and carboplatin (paraplatin).

Toxicity: Grade 2-4 toxicities included hematologic, diarrhea, vomiting, dyspnea, and dehydration. Other toxicities (grade 2-3 included) alopecia, asthenia, nausea, arthralgia, myalgia, and neuropathy.

Results: The median survival was 12.5 months.
