Patients: This Phase II trial involved 18 patients with metastatic non-small cell lung carcinoma.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of a drug called pyrazoloacridine.

Toxicity: One patient died of cardiorespiratory arrest. This death was considered “likely secondary to disease progression.” Other toxicities included hematologic (grade 1-4), infection (grade 1-3), fatigue (grade 1-3), phlebitis (grade 2), thrombophlebitis/embolism (grade 3-4), and nausea (grade 1-3).

Results: there were no objective responses and median survival was 4.8 months.
