Patients: This study involved a total of 62 patients with stage IIIA, N2 non-small-cell lung cancer. Patients were divided into two groups (A and B) of 31 patients each.

Treatment: Group A was administered chemotherapy, cisplatin (platinol) and vindesine prior to surgical resection.

Toxicity: Grade 3 toxicities included leukocytopenia, anemia, and vomiting.

Results: Median overall survival was 17 months.
