Patients: This Phase II study involved 87 patients with metastatic breast cancer. The median age was 50. Eighty percent of the patients had metastases into soft tissue. All patients had received at least one prior chemotherapy regimen.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of three chemotherapy drugs mitomycin C, vinblastine, and cisplatin.

Toxicity: Grade 1-4 toxicities included neutropenia, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia. Grade 1-3 toxicities included infection, lethargy, nausea/vomiting, and alopecia.

Results: The median overall survival was 8 months.
