Description:
Patients: This Phase I/II study involved 30 patients with metastatic colorectal cancer. Twenty-four patients were men, and six were women. The median age was 58. The primary sites were colon (8 patients), sigmoid rectum (5 patients), and rectum (17 patients). Metastatic sites included liver, lung, and lymph nodes. Fifteen patients had surgery, and six patients received adjuvant chemotherapy prior to this study.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of four chemotherapeutic agents: oxaliplatin, irinotecan, 5-fluorouracil, and leucovorin.

Toxicity: One patient died of neutropenic sepsis. Grade 3-4 toxicities included neutropenia, diarrhea, vomiting, and fatigue.

Results: The median overall survival was 25.4 months.
