Description:
Patients: This Phase II study involved 39 patients with metastatic or recurrent non-small-cell lung cancer (26 with adenocarcinoma). Twenty-six patients were men, and thirteen were women. The average age was 60.5 years. All patients had received one platinum-based chemotherapy treatment before this study.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of one chemotherapeutic agent, docetaxel and one COX-2 inhibitor, celecoxib.

Toxicity: One patient died of neutropenic sepsis while on therapy. Grade 3-4 toxicities included neutropenia, dyspnea, fatigue, hyponatremia, hypoxia, and neuropathy.

Results: The median overall survival was 11.3 months.
