Description:
Patients: This Phase II study involved 64 patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (49 patients had colon cancer and 15 patients had rectal cancer.) Thirty-six patients were men, and twenty-eight were women. The median age was 68 years. Metastatic sites frequently involved lung and liver.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of three chemotherapeutic agents: uracil, ftorafur, and oxaliplatin. In addition a vitamin leucovorin (folate) was also administered.

Toxicity: Grade 3-4 toxicities included sensory neuropathy, thrombocytopenia, asthenia, diarrhea, infection, and neutropenia.

Results: The median overall survival was 18.2 months. One complete response and twenty partial responses were observed, with twenty-nine patients achieving stable disease.
