Description:
Patients: This phase II study involved 26 women with recurrent or persistent epithelial ovarian or primary peritoneal cancer. The majority (16) were between the aged of 60 and 79 years of age.

Treatments: Patients were treated with the chemotherapy drug karenitecin.

Toxicity: Grade 3 or 4 neutropenia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia and anemia were reported. Grade 3 gastrointestinal, metabolic, neurological, and ocular toxicities were also reported.

Results: The median survival was estimated to be 15 months.
