Description:

Patients:
This study involved 40 women with platinum-resistant ovarian, peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer with a median patient age of 58.6 years. All patients had received prior platinum-based chemotherapy.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agent topotecan and the biologic therapy agent bevacizumab.

Toxicities:
The most severe adverse events included grade 4 myocaardial ischemia (decreased blood flow to the heart) and pain. Grade 3 high blood pressure and gastrointestinal toxicities were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 16.6 months.
