Description:

Patients:
This study involved 207 patients with untreated Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, marginal zone lymphoma, or lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma. The median patient age was 67.8 years and 67% were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agent called chlorambucil.

Toxicities:
Four treatment-related deaths due to infection were reported. Grade 4 neutropenia, liver enzyme abnormalities, and lung toxicity were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 69.8 months.
