Description:

Patients: This phase II study involved 15 women with recurrent ovarian or primary peritoneal cancer. The median age was 54.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of two chemotherapy agents - bortezomib and carboplatin.

Toxicity: Grade 3 and 4 toxicities included neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, diarrhea, cosntipation, neuropathy, rash, anorexia, and fatigue.

Results: Median survival was not reported.

Support: One of the authors was listed as a consultant and honorarian recipient from Millennium Pharmaceuticals. This company manufactures or markets bortezomib.
