Description:

Patients:
This study involved 40 women with metastatic breast cancer. The median age was 52.1 years.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with a combination of the chemotherapy agents vinorelbine and capecitabine.

Toxicity:
There were 8 reported cases of grade 4 neutropenia, which was the worst grade of adverse event. Also reported were 4 cases of grade 3 diarrhea.

Results:
The median overall survival was 11.3 months and median progression-free survival was 3.4 months.
