Description:

Patients: This Phase I/II trial involved 29 patients with recurrent non-small-cell lung cancer. The majority of patients had adenocarcinoma and were stage IV.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of two drugs, gemcitabine (gemzar) and docetaxel (taxotere).

Toxicity: Grade 4 toxicities included leucopenia and neutropenia. Other toxicities included anemia, thrombocytopenia, nausea, vomiting/diarrhea, infection, , neutropenic fever, rash, neurotoxicity, fever (no infection), AST, ALT, serum creatinine, and hyponatremia.

Results: Median survival was 11.1 months.
