Description:

Patients:
This study involved 20 patients with metastatic colorectal cancer whose disease had progressed following previous FOLFOX and FOLFIRI chemotherapy regimens.

Treatment:
Patients were administered the chemotherapy agent capecitabine.

Toxicity:
The maximum reported toxicity was 1 case of grade 3-4 hand-foot syndrome (skin irritation on hands and feet). Grade 2 mucositis (inflammation of the mouth and GI tract) was also reported.

Results:
The median progression-free survival was 2.3 months and the median overall survival was 5.3 months.
