Description:

Patients: This Phase II study involved 20 patients with inoperable glioblastoma multiforme and 13 patients with inoperable anaplastic astrocytoma.

Treatment: Treatment consisted of two chemotherapy drugs, cisplatin and temozolomide.

Toxicity: There were grade 3-4 hematological toxicities. Other toxicities included ototoxicity, neurotoxicity, renal, hepatic, and nausea/vomiting.

Results: At 12 months 86.2% of glioblastoma patients had their tumors progress (grow).
