Description:

Patients: This Phase II study involved 97 patients with metastatic breast cancer.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of the drugs epirubicin and vinorelbine (navelbine).

Toxicity: Grade 4 toxicities included neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, mucosistis, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, and hepatotoxicity. Other (less than grade 4) toxicities included: arthralgias/myalgias, peripheral neurotoxicity, constipation, and phlebitis/local pain.

Results: Median survival was 26 months.
