Description:

Patients:
This study involved 16 refractory or relapsed aggressive non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma patients who were in a state of poor health. The median patient age was 55 years and 11 were male.

Treatment:
Patients received chemotherapy with mitoxantrone, etoposide, and bleomycin, as well as the corticosteroid dexamethasone.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 4 and included leukopenia, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia. Grade 2 nausea, constipation, and pneumonia were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 22.4 months.
