Description:

Patients:
There were 72 patients with liver-dominant colorectal metastases in this trial and 65% were male. The median age was 61 years with a range of 54-86 years.

Treatment:
Patients in this study were given radiation therapy in the form of Yttrium-90 (Y90) microspheres, which are radioactive glass particles.

Toxicity:
The majority of toxicities reported were of grade 1-2, consisting of nausea, fatigue, and abdominal pain. In addition, 12.6% of patients experienced grade 3-4 bilirubin toxicity, which is associated with liver problems.

Results:
The median overall survival in this study was reported as 14.5 months.
