Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 20 elderly (over 65) glioblastoma patients. The median patient age was 75.4 years and 9 were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with radiation therapy and the chemotherapy agent temozolomide.

Toxicities:
Treatment-related deaths due to sepsis (infection) and pulmonary embolism were reported. Grade 2 cerebral swelling was also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 13 months and the median progression-free survival was 11 months.
