Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 45 elderly and/or frail metastatic colorectal cancer patients. The median patient age was 79 years and 40% were male.

Treatment:
Patients received chemotherapy with capecitabine and biologic therapy with bevacizumab.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 4 and included grade 3-4 diarrhea, fatigue, and hand-foot syndrome (skin reaction).

Results:
The median overall survival was 12.7 months.
