Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 63 previously untreated advanced urothelial carcinoma patients. The median patient age was 64 years and 89% were male.

Treatment:
Patients received the chemotherapy agents gemcitabine and cisplatin, in addition to biologic therapy with sunitinib.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were grade 4 and included leukopenia, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia.

Results:
The median overall survival was 12 months.
