Description:

Patients: This study involved 22 women with metastatic breast cancer. The median age was 56, ranging from 32 to 73 years of age.

Treatment: Patients were treated with the biological therapy trastuzumab and chemotherapy with either docetaxel or paclitaxel.

Toxicity: No grade 4 toxicities were reported. Grade 3 neurosensory toxicity was reported in one patient in each treatment group. Other grade 3 toxicities, each occurring on one patient, were neutropenia, leucopenia, and thrombocytopenia.

Results: The median overall survival was 12 months.
