Description:

Patients:
This phase II study involved 27 men with metastatic castration-resistance prostate cancer who had been previously treated with chemotherapy. The median age was 68 years.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agent vorinostat.

Toxicities:
The most severe reported adverse event was grade 4 thrombosis. Grade 3 fatigue, nausea, and anorexia were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 11.7 months.
