Description:

Patients:
This study involved 44 diffuse malignant peritoneal mesothelioma patients. The average patient age was 51.6 years and 63.6 were male.

Treatment:
Patients received cytoreductive surgery (CRS) combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) with cisplatin and mitomycin.

Toxicities:
There were three treatment-related deaths in hospital due to treatment/surgery. Infection, pneumonia, bleeding, and kidney impairment were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 44 months.
