Description:

Patients: This phase 2 study involved fifty-one women with recurrent or persistent platinum-resistant ovarian or primary peritoneal cancer. The majority were between the ages of 40 and 79.

Treatment: These patients were treated with pemetrexed, a chemotherapy drug.

Toxicity: Grade 4 toxicities included leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, neurological and pain. Other toxicities (grade 3 and milder) included leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, anemia, gastrointestinal, nausea/vomiting, skin changes, neurological, metabolic changes, and infection.

Results: The median overall survival was 11.4 months.
