Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 31 metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer patients who had been previously treated with docetaxel. The median patient age was 67 years.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the biologic therapy agent bevacizumab and the chemotherapy agent satraplatin.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 4 and included blood clots and thrombocytopenia. Grade 3 diarrhea and dehydration were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 11.2 months.
