Description:

Patients: This phase II study involved 23 patients with metastatic collecting duct carcinoma. The median age was 65 years, ranging from 18-74. Fifty-seven percent of the patients were women.

Treatment: Patients were treated with the chemotherapy drugs gemcitabine, cisplatin, and carboplatin.

Toxicity: Grade 3-4 neutropenia occurred in 52% of patients, anemia in 44%, and thrombocytopenia occurred in 26%. No toxic deaths occured.

Results: The median overall survival was 10.5 months, ranging from 3.8-17.1 months. The median progression-free survival was 7.1 months.
