Description:

Patients:
This phase II study involved 57 patients with B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma who had relapsed following prior treatment. The median patient age was 63 years and 67% were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the biologic therapy agent rituximab (a monoclonal antibody that directs the immune system to attack cancerous B-cells), the chemotherapy agents cisplatin and cytosine arabinoside, the hormone dexamethasone, and the immuotherapy agent G-CSF (which stimulates immune cells).

Toxicities:
There was one reported treatment-related death due to infection. Grade 4 neutropenia (68% of patients) and thrombocytopenia (39%) were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 30.5 months.
