Description:

Patients: This Phase II study involved 32 patients with advanced (stage IIIB or IV or recurrent) non-small-cell lung cancer. None of the patients had received prior chemotherapy.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of the administration of two drugs, gemcitabine (gemzar) and docetaxel (taxotere).

Toxicity: Toxicities included grade 4 hematological toxicity, and grade 3 or less fatigue, anorexia, nausea, fluid retention, transaminitis, diarrhea, myalgias, pneumonitis, and peripheral neuropathy.

Results: The median survival time was 7.9 months.
