Treatment: These women were treated with the chemotherapy drugs vinorelbine and capecitabine.

Toxicity: One 65 year old woman, who experienced grade 4 neutropenia and grade 3 diarrhea, died from sepsis. Grade 4 toxicities included anemia, leucopenia, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia. Of these, anemia was the least common (1.9% of patients), and thrombocytopenia the most common (reported in 22.6% of patients). Grade 4 stomatitis, infection, and embolism were reported (each in less than 2% of patients).

Results: The median overall survival was 29.2 months.
