Description:

Patients: This Phase III trial study involved 230 patients with metastatic or locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

Treatment: Patients were divided into two groups – one group (114 patients) received 5 fractions of radiotherapy and the second group (116 patients) received a single fraction of radiotherapy.

Toxicity: Toxicities included esophagitis, skin reaction, nausea and vomiting, and fatigue.

Results: Median survival for patients who received a single fraction of radiotherapy was 4.2 months.
