Description:

Patients: This Phase II study involved 40 patients with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme. All patients had already been treated with surgery and radiotherapy.

Treatment: Treatment consisted of CPT-11 (Camptosar, Irinotecan).

Toxicity: No treatment related complications were seen. There was no evidence of grade 3 or 4 myelosuppression, diarrhea or abdominal pain.

Results: There were no responses to treatment after a cycle of CPT-11. Median survival was 4 months.
