Description:

Patients:
This phase II study involved 58 patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, 36 of whom were male. The median patient age was 67.5 years.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy combination termed FOLFOX4, which includes the agents 5-fluorouracil, oxaliplatin, and leucovorin.

Toxicities:
The most severe adverse events were of grade 4, including 10 cases of neutropenia. Also, grade 1-3 peripheral neuropathy (tingling or numbness) was reported.

Results:
The reported median progression-free survival and overall survival were 10.2 and 27.6 months, respectively.
