Description:

Patients: This Phase I study involved 19 patients with advanced solid-tissue tumors. Eleven of these patients were men, and eight were women. The average age was 53.7 years. All patients had advanced metastatic disease involving at least one other site, and all had received prior surgery or had been on at least one anticancer regimen. Six of the patients had colon cancer.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of chemotherapeutic drug BAY 43-9006. This drug has been shown in pre-clinical studies to inhibit enzymes that are involved in both tumor cell proliferation and angiogenesis.

Toxicities: No grade 4 toxicities were reported. Grade 1-3 toxicities included pruritis and skin rashes.

Results: There were no responses.
