Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 29 women with metastatic breast cancer who had been previously treated with anthracyclines and taxanes. The median patient age was 58 years.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agents docetaxel and capecitabine.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 4 and included neutropenia. Grade 3 neurotoxicity, fatigue, and hand-foot syndrome were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 25.5 months.
